We are Hannes (26) and Silas (24) – two friends who have known each other for many years, live almost next door to each other, and share a great passion: fishing. We spend a lot of time on the water, restore boats together, modify our own boat, and delve deeply into equipment, accessories, and organization. The idea for Castiq arose from this everyday life.
Over time, we've tried many storage systems. Pegboards, brackets, boards – functional in design, but rarely convincing. Often they lacked stability, the workmanship was sloppy, or the coating couldn't withstand daily use. Above all, there were hardly any suppliers who developed high-quality and attractive storage systems specifically for anglers. Products that don't need to be hidden away, but can be prominently displayed in the hobby room, garage, or even a child's room without looking like typical workshop equipment.
This frustration led to the desire to develop our own system: a board that is stable, well-made, and visually appealing. The first draft of our board was created in December 2025. This was followed by several prototypes, which we used ourselves, tested, and refined repeatedly. Many details only become apparent in real-world use, so it was important for us to test every component under everyday conditions. Only when function, stability, and design were perfectly aligned did we commission the first production run of the boards.
Our collaboration is based on a clear division of tasks. Hannes handles the technical and craft aspects and is responsible for design, material selection, manufacturing details, and the mechanical stability of the products. I take care of organization, IT, processes, product structure, and parts of the design. This includes planning, system logic, shop setup, technical processes, and brand development. This combination of craftsmanship, technology, and organization allows us to fully control Castiq and consistently develop it further.
Today, the boards are produced in stable series production. We manufacture the modules 100% in-house – from the initial concept and design to production in our hobby workshop and Castiq office. Each module is precisely tailored to the system and is inspected by us before it becomes part of the product range. This allows us to develop modules specifically for common brands and applications, ensuring a perfect fit and reliable functionality.
Castiq represents a storage system that creates order and impresses as a product in its own right. Rods, reels, and accessories should no longer be scattered loose in a corner or strewn across multiple bags. Everything has its designated place, is quickly accessible, and clearly organized. We place great value on durable materials, impeccable workmanship, and a design that also works as a visual element in any room.
A key part of Castiq is the community. Many ideas don't originate at a desk, but rather from conversations, feedback, and real-world needs. We want to develop a system that isn't static, but grows with the people who use it. Suggestions, ideas, and new module concepts are expressly welcome and are directly incorporated into further development.
Castiq was born out of a desire to do things better, rather than settling for compromises. It's a system by anglers for anglers – honestly developed, practically implemented, and with the aim of meaningfully combining order and design.
